About Tony
Tony is an employment lawyer who has been practising for more 35 years – since before it became a real specialism.
His commercial and people experience has been gathered over years of acting for many and varied clients, from start-ups to listed companies, with both their day-to-day and one-off employment issues. Tony works closely with in-house legal and HR teams and directly with those entrepreneurs without HR in-house but who want personal and trusted support.
Tony stays close – and encourages our team to stay close – to wider corporate work. He believes it’s vital to have good corporate and commercial knowledge, in order to give rounded advice, recognising that employment law doesn’t exist in a legal vacuum.
Tony’s work often dovetails with that of the corporate team and he has extensive experience of share schemes, employee share ownership and employee incentive planning, often when a creative structure is required.
Tony aims to create practical solutions that work commercially for clients and not to waste clients’ time or money. He is happy to be a sounding board, but can equally provide end-to-end process without re-inventing the wheel.
