About Gurdev Makan
Mak has spent his entire career working in the family law sector and qualified as a Solicitor in June 2023. Mak previously trained in a leading Legal 500 firm in Liverpool where he assisted the head of department with high net worth divorce and complex children matters. He left a boutique firm in Manchester to join McAlister Family Law in December 2024.
Mak has experience in dealing with all types of family law matters but has a keen interest in complex divorce cases. During his career Mak’s work has primarily focused on divorces with complex asset structures such as shares in limited companies, commercial properties, complex SSAS and public sector pension funds. Mak also has experience in dealing with cases with modest asset pots.
Mak also deals with cases involving financial disputes relating to unmarried couples whether that be by way of Trusts of Land Act (1990) claims or financial provision for the benefit of a child under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.
Mak understands that clients are usually going through some of the toughest moments of their lives. He prides himself on combining an empathetic and robust approach and strives to obtain the best results possible for his clients.
