About Maya
Maya is a paralegal at Beyond Law Group’s specialist family and child law practice, McAlister Family Law. Maya graduated with a distinction in MA Law (Conversion) at the University of Law. Prior to this, Maya studied BSc Criminology the University of Bristol. After finishing her undergraduate degree, Maya worked as a 1:1 support worker in a year 3 class to a child with special educational needs and disabilities. Maya’s passion to work in family law further grew whilst writing a dissertation on children’s law. The dissertation specifically focused on children’s capacity to consent in medical decision-making regarding puberty blockers.
Maya works as a paralegal acting on behalf of the local authorities, dealing with pre-proceedings and care proceedings.
