Beyond Law Group’s specialist family and children law practice, McAlister Family Law, has appointed Michael Compston and Falon Whalen to its Divorce and Finance team.

The appointments follow the most successful year to date for Beyond Law Group and its niche practices. Its specialist family practice, McAlister Family Law, has quickly established itself as the go-to family and children law practice in the North-West, having climbed the esteemed Legal 500 rankings to tier 1 this year as well as being named “Family Team of the Year” at the Manchester Legal Awards. Most recently, McAlister Family Law’s Children team were named “Team of the Year” at the prestigious Manchester Young Talent Awards.

Michael, previously from Stowe Family Law, joins McAlister Family Law’s private Children team with 10 years’ experience in the legal sector and a passion for family law. Michael’s focus at McAlister Family Law will see him deal with predominantly children related matters, this being his preferred area of specialism and the major reason for his move. His work will involve advising on child arrangements and specific issues surrounding children’s schooling and holidays issues.

Falon Whalen also joins as a Solicitor in McAlister Family Law’s Divorce and Finance team, having qualified as a solicitor in April 2022. Having gained valuable experience at niche family law firm Sarah Bentley for three years, Falon is well equipped to advise on a range of family law matters, particularly divorce and finance.
