Partner joins Beyond Law Group’s specialist family and children practice, McAlister Family Law, to head up new “Modern Families” division

Beyond Law Group’s specialist family law practice, McAlister Family Law, announces the appointment of Partner, Hannah Saxe, who will head up the practice’s new Modern Families team

Beyond Law Group’s leading family and children practice, McAlister Family Law, has appointed Hannah Saxe to its divorce and finance team, enabling the team to establish a greater and more specialist focus on modern family and LGBTQ+ services such as adoption, surrogacy and donor conception.

The formation of the new team, which Hannah will lead, is in response to a rise in client enquiries related to domestic and international surrogacy, donor conception, adoption and disputes connected to these areas, and is part of a wider Group strategy to drive growth. Hannah brings invaluable experience to the role, having successfully led the Manchester team at Slater and Gordon and prior to that working at Irwin Mitchell for over 10 years.

Listed in the UK Legal 500 rankings as a “Rising Star”, Hannah covers most aspects of family law but in the main, advises clients in relation to surrogacy arrangements in England and overseas, adoption and donor conception, which are highly specialist areas in a family law practice. Hannah also has specialist expertise when it comes to advising LGBTQ+ parents and parents-to-be.

Hannah has a strong profile in the Manchester family law market as an accredited specialist in Private Law Children and Cohabitation, as well as being a long-standing Cohabitation Committee member. Hannah regularly appears on local and national radio and television discussing family law issues: most recently on ITV to discuss the proposed reforms to surrogacy law.

The appointment follows the most successful year to date for Beyond Law Group and its specialist practices. McAlister Family Law has established itself as the go to family and children law practice in the region, having climbed the rankings in both Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners year on year and being named “Family Team of the Year” at the Manchester Legal Awards for two consecutive years running in 2022 and 2023.

Hannah comments on her appointment: “I’m thrilled to join Beyond Law Group and am looking forward to working alongside such experienced, specialist family and children lawyers at McAlister Family Law. I’m joining at a very exciting time for the practice; its growth, scale and ambitions are evident and I’m keen to build on its strong reputation with the launch of the practice’s new Modern Family team. I look forward to contributing towards the development and expansion of the team, helping to make a positive difference to our clients.

Amanda McAlister, managing partner of McAlister Family Law, added: “Our Family Law team is now the largest, most specialist team in the North West and Hannah’s appointment completes our suite of family law services. The depth of experience of our team enables us to support clients who are often experiencing the most difficult time in their lives. As a practice, we are seeing significant growth across areas such as adoption, surrogacy and donor conception, and Hannah’s appointment means we can meet increasing demand for these more niche, specialist areas of family law with the launch of our Modern Families team.”

Matt Fleetwood, Chief Executive and Founder of Beyond Law Group, comments: “It is with great pleasure that we welcome Hannah to Beyond Law Group. As a firm, we pride ourselves on expanding and developing our practice’s services in direct response to client demand, and Hannah’s specialist experience will add real value to McAlister Family Law’s service offering and client proposition.  Hannah is the ninth female partner to join Beyond Law Group and I am confident that our firm, our clients and our people will benefit greatly from Hannah’s expertise, and we look forward to seeing her plans come into fruition.”
