Training Contracts
The training contract process at Beyond Law Group is distinct from other law firms, with there being a strong emphasis on the nurturement and development of internal candidates. We are loyal to our people as it is them that are the future of our business.
Progression to Trainee Solicitor
At Beyond Law Group, our “grow your own” approach means that there is a clear path of progression from paralegal to trainee solicitor. This enables us to enhance your strengths, empower you to carve out your path and provide a fast and dynamic culture for you to do it in.
Our emphasis on fostering a people-centric culture is evident in the way we nurture and develop talent. Whilst you are training, we believe in providing you with responsibility, getting you involved in not just the legal side of what we do but also the commercials. We will involve you in workshops covering everything from business development and pitching for business to the importance of financial KPI’s to a growing business.
Application Process
Beyond Law Group’s people focused approach is echoed at each stage of the application process. Candidates are able to express themselves, their interest in law and the reasons for seeking a training contract in an inclusive and non-intimidating environment.
The application process is open to paralegals across the Group and consists of two stages, the first of which is a written submission relating to the candidate’s experience within the Group and their awareness of how a modern law firm operates.
Successful candidates will then be invited to provide a presentation to a panel of partners on an area of law which is of particular interest to them. Whilst presenting to an audience can naturally be a daunting experience, our emphasis on cultivating a vibrant and tight-knit social environment means that candidates feel encouraged rather than intimidated by the process.
The Training Contract
The training contract itself comprises of three seat rotations across the Group, with trainees being able to gain hands-on experience within the Group’s specialist practices: McAlister Family Law, Beyond Corporate and Beyond Conveyancing.
The Group’s broad offering of practice areas means that trainees can gain invaluable experience, shaping them into well-rounded junior lawyers.
Trainees also reap the benefit of great partner exposure, which sets the training contract at Beyond out from others. Throughout the three-seat rotation, trainees will benefit from increased client interaction, responsibilities and exposure to a vast range of contentious and non-contentious work. The mix of learning and support at Beyond Law Group means that trainees gain an invaluable depth of experience both legally and socially.
