About Mark
An experienced Executive Director and Corporate Lawyer, Mark is the Group Managing Director of Beyond Law Group. Mark works closely with the board to shape the Group’s strategic direction, drive sustainable growth and support the execution of long-term objectives.
Mark qualified as a lawyer at a large regional firm before specialising in private equity, with a focus on buy-and-build strategies, M&A and transaction structuring. He held senior positions at both international and large national law firms, becoming a partner in 2007. During this time, he played a key role in growing a fledgling Manchester office into a significant full-service market player.
From 2014 to 2024, Mark was Executive Director at a high-growth student and build-to-rent developer, where he was responsible for Group leadership and investment activities. His remit covered strategy, legal, governance, HR, investment management and group funding, alongside executive oversight of core brands. He also led group acquisition, investment, funding, and disposal transactions in the UK and overseas. During this period, Mark also spent five years on the board of an EFL football club.
Due to his Group-level responsibilities, Mark does not hold a formal role in the Group’s corporate or real estate teams. However, he retains a strong interest in private equity and property transactions and serves as a trusted adviser to several businesses and entrepreneurs.
