About Matt
An experienced lawyer and business owner, Matt is the Chief Executive and Founder of Beyond Law Group.
Matt worked through the ranks at a niche corporate firm, becoming its managing partner in 2005, overseeing its growth and then going on to join the board of an international firm in 2014, before establishing the Group in 2017.
As a corporate lawyer of more than 20 years’ experience, he has had the benefit of wide commercial experience, acting for both large corporates, institutional investors and funders, as well as small start ups and growing entrepreneurial businesses.
Whilst Matt is responsible for the Group, he still plays a part in the corporate team within the group’s specialist corporate and commercial practice; Beyond Corporate. As a corporate lawyer, Matt has built a reputation for moving complex and difficult transactions forward, finding solutions rather than creating problems and cutting through the trivial and irrelevant.
As a trusted advisor he also believes that specialist lawyers should have wider commercial curiosity to help them provide more rounded advice.
Matt has worked for a wide variety of clients, undertaking material finance transactions and has acted for clients such as New Care, McGoff Group, CorpAcq, Cotton Traders, Sale Sharks and Jigsaw24 across retail, technology, leisure and construction and development sectors.
