Beyond the Entrepreneur: Steve Bartlett

The numbers: A market value of more than £300 million!

How did he do it? Steve is the co-founder and former CEO of listed social media firm Social Chain, a published author and podcaster. The entrepreneur launched the company from his Manchester bedroom aged 22. When he was 27 he took the company public, which took its market value to £300 million. He then left the business to find other investment opportunities. He’s joined the food replacement brand Huel as a non-executive director. As if all this isn’t achievement enough, he has also founded a private equity company Catena Capital and written his first book, entitled Happy Sexy Millionaire. He also hosts a podcast called The Diary of A CEO. He has 1.2 million followers on Instagram, so now he’s a Dragon it’s likely he’ll bring a significantly younger viewership to the show.

He seems fairly busy… why has he joined Dragon’s Den? Steve said: “ I’ve been watching Dragons’ Den since I was 12 years old – it was my first window into the real world of business and investing. It’s a tremendous honour to join the Den, hopefully representing a new generation of entrepreneurs, inspiring young and specifically under-represented entrepreneurs to follow in my footsteps.”
