McAlister Family Law, Stockport opened in January 2018 with the objective of bringing city-quality Family and Children Law advice to the residents of Stockport and the surrounding areas. We are aware that for many, facing the commute into Manchester can be time consuming and stressful but that top divorce and family law advice is still desperately needed.
McAlister Family Law’s managing partner, Amanda McAlister, lives in Cheshire and the team have taken their years of experience working at national and international firms and have translated this into a niche children and family Law practice.
Our welcoming office in Stockport is based on London Road, Hazel Grove, and is conveniently located near to the Family Law courts.
Our team represents high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners, and sports and media personalities. We also represent families and children in Stockport, Hazel Grove, Poynton, Disley and and surrounding areas such as New Mills and Buxton, whose enquiries can range from the division of the family home to negotiating child contact.

Our Children Law Team
McAlister Family Law has established one of the largest specialist Children Law teams outside of London, and is home to some of the UK’s most highly respected, leading Children Law experts. Unlike most firms, we act not only for parents, grandparents and step-parents, but also for the children themselves. We also cover child arrangements orders, child abduction, adoption and surrogacy. The strength and depth of our Children Law department is supported by our many accreditations, including the Law Society Children Law Accreditation Panel, the Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and the Institute of Family Law, and we support multiple relevant organisations such as Only Mums, Only Dads, as well as numerous children-focused charities.

By rail
Our offices are a short walk from Hazel Grove train station. When you walk out of the station, turn left onto London Road. We are situated above Ian Tonge Estate Agents.
By Car
Off road parking is available on the side streets close to the office. Parking is also available on the nearby Marks and Spencer and Asda car parks.
